Canada
is a great country for sports. Although you will not see Canada dominate or
even give tough time in the major sports competitions of the world, the country
boosts an excellent sports infrastructure. There are many huge stadiums in Canada and other sporting
facilities as well. Many of the Canada Stadiums are dedicated to Football and major competitions of American
Football take place in these stadiums. Canadian Football League (CFL) is a
major sporting event in Canada and many stadiums are dedicated to it.
Presently,
there are 9 CFL stadiums. These
include BC Place, BMO Field, and The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium. If we
talk about the biggest Canada Stadiums,
the Commonwealth Stadium is the biggest one. This stadium has a total capacity
of 56,302 and is located in Edmonton. The Olympic Stadium is the second Biggest
one of the stadiums of Canada. This
stadium is located in Montreal and it has a total capacity of 56,040. BC Place
is also among the largest Canada
stadiums and it is located in Vancouver. It has a total capacity of 54,320.
There
are about 20 big stadiums that are present in Canada. Many of these have crowd
capacity that ranges from 10,000 to 20,000. The smallest one is the Richardson
Memorial Stadium. It is located in Kingston and has a total crowd capacity of
8,500. It was constructed in 1971 and has natural grass surface. Most of the
stadiums today have field turf. The Olympic Stadium and the BC place also have
field turf. On the other hand, the Commonwealth Stadium has Shaw Sports Turf.
There
are many smaller stadiums in the country as well. The crowd capacity of these
smaller stadiums ranges from 500 to 10,000. Canada is one of the most modern
countries and has a keen focus on human development. The country recognizes
that the sports plays an important role in human development and spends a good
amount of money on sports. As the country continues to improve its sports
infrastructure, the number of stadiums in Canada will continue to increase and
we will see some even bigger and better venues in future in competitions like
CFL.
